Pre-Fontaine Classic in Eugene

Pre-Fontaine Classic in Eugene

Last Saturday, we made our second annual trip to Eugene for the PreClassic, the country's premium track and field meet at Hayward Field. I wouldn't call myself a sports fan by any measure, but put me in an environment of cheering fans, good vibes, stadium snacks and world class talent, and I'm there for it! I definitely recognized athletes from last year, and cried along with the rest of the stadium when Faith Kipyegon and Beatrice Chebet broke world records in the 1500m and 5000m races. I'm sad to report that the merch this year wasn't as great as last year (I still love my sweet bold green/white striped logo crewneck sweatshirt!), but I spotted a LITTLE fashion in the stands with these cuties!

I just pulled this quick Eugene round-up from an old newsletter, but these places are worth a re-mention! If you're in the area... these are a few cool spots to hit:

  • Provisions is a perfect stop to grab a quick lunch and pastry (or any other specialty pantry items) on your way to an event in the woods!
  • For a leisurely morning, I can't get over the frittata sandwich I had at Farmers Union Coffee Roasters (the egg biscuit sandwich was also insane).
  • And, please go visit Carl next door at Oak Street Vintage! He and his wife have run their shop for 15 years! And they have incredible MCM pieces. Wow. I took home a plant stand, and my husband picked up a piece of art and an old type design book!
